'It's like they never miss a pass': The Swans' Galbraith renews clash with Pep's side.

Ethan Galbraith can't help but smile as he remembers the nail-biting final moments of his team's epic comeback victory against Nottingham Forest in the League Cup. The game wrapped up with Galbraith briefly donning a spectator's eyewear amid the on-field celebration.

With the clock ticking into the 97th minute, Galbraith struck the post with a speculative effort from 25 yards, and his teammate immediately converted the rebound before sprinting toward the home end to revel in the moment, with fans swarming the players.

Extraordinary Turnaround

The victory completed an unbelievable comeback given the team had trailed 2-0 midway through the latter period. During the delirium, there was some collateral damage. He shared, "There was a supporter shouting out and Josh Key and I were wondering: 'What's he on about here?' Then we spotted the glasses. It was a light-hearted moment putting them on. We are on the pitch as athletes but we're people, too, so to have a laugh with the fans is always good."

Manchester City Challenge

That win booked a fourth-round match at home against Pep Guardiola's side on Wednesday, a club Galbraith pushed hard at the comparable phase of the FA Cup with his former club in February. Galbraith had a prime vantage point when his former team took the lead in spectacular fashion, with a teammate's volley from about way out going in via the woodwork and the opposition keeper. It seems unfair that it was recorded as an own goal.

"You would have wished they would've credited him for having a go from that range," stated Galbraith, who started in midfield before shifting to right flank after they changed formation. That meant getting to grips with Jack Grealish, with whom he exchanged jerseys, and the attacker was among the Manchester squad who paid tribute to the way the underdogs approached the match.

Opponent's Class

"Athletically they are very good but even the fundamentals and routine actions, they can just execute repeatedly," Galbraith says. "It feels like they complete every delivery and they know how to dictate and slow down a game. You can think you're doing well and then abruptly they will just fizz a pass past your midfield without you even seeing. You have to be alert throughout of the game. It requires a tough attitude and concentration just to stay in the game."

New Chapter

The Welsh side were keen on Galbraith in January and fought off rivals to bring him in in the summer in a significant move. He made a name as a crowd pleaser across two seasons at his former club and has rapidly replicated that in Wales. At his previous team he reunited with the coach, who earlier gave Galbraith his first extended run in senior football on loan at Doncaster from Manchester United. Then came a spell at League Two Salford City, before he departed his boyhood club.

Learning Curve

"I was perhaps a somewhat inexperienced going into professional soccer. I think numerous professionals would say development squad matches is entirely separate. Sometimes it appears the ball is moved without real physicality. You see few hard challenges. Once you start playing first-team football you have to adapt rapidly."

International Recognition

His progress reflects that development for his team and nation, excelling for the Green and White Army, who could still reach the global tournament next summer via the qualifying rounds and for whom he has started the last several matches, including both legs encounters against the German national team. The ex-coach, Galbraith's former international manager, paid him the highest praise, saying he was Northern Ireland's "midfield general" given how he handles the football and his eye for a decisive through ball.

Humble Beginnings

It has been quite the ride for the player from the neighborhood in the Belfast suburb, just outside the capital, who grew up watching his parent, Stuart, also a central player, play for Ballyclare Comrades.

Red Devils Debut

The player's sole appearance for Manchester United came in Central Asia in 2019, a Europa League trip to Astana, where they featured on an synthetic surface and the stadium roof was closed owing to conditions of -15C. "That proved to be a long trip and it was freezing," he says, grinning. "The days leading up, myself and quite a few of the young lads worked out jointly, so that assisted our preparation. Just to join the main group and earn some playing time at the end was amazing."

Departing Old Trafford

How hard was it to depart Manchester United, the club he signed from his boyhood team aged his mid-teens? "It was fairly simple, because I got to the stage where I knew I couldn't establish myself at first-team level. I'm very appreciative for the time I spent there but it got to the point where I thought I required a fresh start, join a smaller club and play first-team games. Now I'm gradually climbing the ladder."

Life in Swansea

This occurs during the middle of the day at Swansea's Fairwood training base but Galbraith has somewhere to be at the early evening: a road rules assessment, another step towards getting on the road. Prior to relocating to Sketty, the young professional was a frequent passenger in Swansea's so-called team minibus, a minibus driven by academy staff, Pete and Howard, which ferries players to and from sessions and fixtures.

"I travel with a teammate, Ronald, the midfielder – Melker Widell used to be in it but has begun using his own car. It's enjoyable to socialize with the teammates but I'm planning to be the following person to drive independently and on the road. His teammate enjoys practical jokes; he's always up to all sorts."

Supporter Connections

While playing for Orient, Galbraith would blend in with supporters on the Tube after starting his journey at his base. "I tried|I attempted|My aim
